Princes Limited acquires the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool

Princes Limited, which became part of the NewPrinces Group in 2024, has completed the acquisition of its historic headquarters, the Royal Liver Building, in the heart of Liverpool.

This investment demonstrates the Group’s strength and long-term strategic vision. At the same time, it marks a symbolic return to Princes’ origins, founded in Liverpool in 1880 as a company specialising in the import of canned food. The company’s name originates from Princes Dock, located just a short distance from the Royal Liver Building, where ships carrying food products from Canada and the United States once docked.

The Royal Liver Building is one of the United Kingdom’s most iconic landmarks, classified as Grade I for its historical and architectural significance. It is one of the three historic buildings known as the “Three Graces” that line the River Mersey, defining Liverpool’s skyline. The building is watched over by the famous Liver Birds, symbols of pride, resilience and ambition—values that continue to inspire our work every day.

“Liverpool is an integral part of our heritage and future. Securing the Royal Liver Building reflects our commitment to this great city, our people, and sustainable success. The Royal Liver Building is an enduring symbol of Liverpool, and it’s an honour for Princes to call it our home.”
Simon Harrison, CEO of Princes Ltd.

The Royal Liver Building will serve not only as our corporate headquarters but also as a multifunctional space for events, collaborations and public engagement initiatives.

At the same time, Princes completed the acquisition of the Cross Green site in Leeds, one of Symington’s facilities, further strengthening our operational presence in the United Kingdom.

These investments, part of an £83 million property plan, underline our commitment to sustainable and robust growth, consolidating our position and creating a stable foundation for the future of our UK operations.
