NewPrinces signs binding agreement to acquire Carrefour Italia

We are proud to announce the signing of the agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Carrefour Italia S.p.A., a company with more than 1,000 stores located in strategic areas across the country, including Piedmont, Lombardy, Tuscany, Liguria, Lazio and Emilia-Romagna.

This transaction, subject to the customary approvals from the relevant authorities, forms part of NewPrinces Group’s broader strategic plan for growth and vertical integration. It aims to strengthen our footprint in the Italian market and accelerate the convergence between our industrial operations and distribution network. 

With this acquisition, we become the second-largest Italian food group by revenue and the first by number of employees, with 13,000 direct staff in Italy, more than 18,000 employees worldwide, and approximately 11,000 people involved in indirect activities. 

Completion of the transaction is expected by the end of the third quarter of 2025.

Thanks to a robust and widely distributed infrastructure across the country, we will be able to further optimise every stage of the value chain, from logistics to production and distribution, while ensuring enhanced quality, traceability and proximity to the end consumer

Our goal is clear: to enhance the value of our brands, expand our sales channels, both physical and digital, and strengthen our presence in key markets

Following completion, our consolidated revenue is expected to reach approximately €6.9 billion*, positioning us among the leading players in the integrated food and retail sector in Europe.
